Thailand PM approves to hold Loy Krathong Festival

The Thai Prime Minister has approved to hold the Loy Krathong Festival with a COVID-Free Setting and Universal Prevention measurements.

The deputy government spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek today (October 30th) told the Thai press, “The Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha has approved to hold the Loy Krathong Festival this year with a COVID-Free Setting and Universal Prevention measurements.”

Several rules to follow are:

  1. Relevant authorities should strictly follow safety measurements such as a BAN on floating lanterns, REQUESTING for no fireworks and fire crackers and ENCOURAGING the Loy Krathong festival to be free of alcohol etc.
  2. Preparing for roads and marine traffic management.
  3. Make sure that Covid -19 measurements such as social distancing and wearing masks are strictly followed.
  4. ‘Thai Chan’a Application must be used at the entrances to events. Toilets should be cleaned every two hours. Venues should provide hygienic bins with covers.

TPN media notes that Pattaya had already scheduled a Loy Krathong event set for November 19th on Pattaya Beach.
