RECAP: Thailand reports 7,960 daily Covid-19 infections with 53 additional deaths today

Thailand discovered a total of 7,960 daily Covid-19 infections with 53 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, November 7th.

The fatalities were 26 men and 27 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 6. All of them were Thai nationals. The age range was between 35 and 95 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (32), diabetes (22), hyperlipidemia (19), obesity (11), and kidney disease (8). Five of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 7,307 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 215 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 427 were from prisons, and the remaining 11 were imported cases.

A number of 98,637 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 2,048 patients are in critical condition including 449 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.07 percent of cases that are critical while 21.9 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 736, followed by Chiang Mai with 482, Songkhla with 417, Pattani with 408, Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 392, and Narathiwas with 348. Meanwhile, Chonburi reported 249 daily infections today.

A total number of 703,581 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 219,782 people had received their first shots, 455,543 people had received their second shots, and 28,256 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 61.0% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 46.8% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 3.6% have had a third booster shot.

As of today, 6,950 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,967,999 cases with 1,849,968 recoveries and a total of 19,664 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
