One million doses of US-donated Moderna vaccines arrive in Thailand this afternoon, U.S. Embassy Bangkok reports

An official Facebook page of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok reported this afternoon, November 22nd, that a US donation of one million doses of Moderna vaccines has arrived in Thailand.

The vaccines were delivered via direct flight CX653 and arrived in the country around 2:20 PM., local time.

Previously, the government of the United States had donated 1.5 million doses of Pfizer vaccines in July. This is the second lot of mRNA vaccines donation, making a total of 2.5 million doses of mRNA vaccines donated to Thailand.

According to Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, this lot of Moderna vaccines will be allocated by the Department of Disease Control to people who are required to travel abroad. The vaccine will be provided under the requirement of their country’s destination.
