Pattaya, Thailand-
 Wow.
December 24th, 2021, Christmas Eve. We made it. It has been, to say the least, a tumultuous almost two years since Covid-19 reared its ugly head in early 2020 and set the world into what seems to be a neverending cycle of anxiety, stress, restrictions, closures, lockdowns, and for some, illness.
But I am not writing this today, Christmas Eve, to talk about Covid. Neither am I going to discuss the past year in review or what next year could look like (That will be saved for an editorial next week around New Year’s Eve.)
Today, I simply wanted to, on behalf of our over a dozen staff and team who work year-round to deliver you neutral, unbiased, factual, and in the moment local and national news, wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas…or Happy Holidays…or Happy Weekend…or whatever it is that you and loved ones may celebrate.
Most of our team, as always, will be working at least some of this weekend to cover events like the Pattaya Festival on Pattaya Beach and keeping a close eye on developments with the Omicron Covid-19 variant and any changes it could bring to your lives or businesses.
However, it is my hope that our team will take the time this weekend to tell those they love and care for how much they do, especially after this difficult year. Most of us will also take at least a day off to be with those we love.
It is also my hope that all of our readers, wherever you are, do their best to have a safe, happy, and healthy holiday this weekend. There is so much uncertainty in the future, and a lot of division online in terms of opinions on what should be done. But for at least a moment, let us live in the present and be thankful for what we have, for what we have done, and for what the future will hopefully bring.
Be kind to each other. Be well, and have a very Merry Christmas to you and yours.
