RECAP: Thailand reports 14,373 daily Covid-19 infections with 27 additional deaths

Thailand discovered a total of 14,373 daily Covid-19 infections with 27 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, February 15th.

The fatalities were 16 men and 11 women with the highest deaths recorded in Bangkok with 8. All of them were Thai nationals. The age range was between 39 and 95 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (10), diabetes (6), hyperlipidemia (5), obesity (2), and kidney disease (5). Two of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 14,007 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 39 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 131 were from prisons, and the remaining 196 were imported cases.

A number of 132,728 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 702 patients are in critical condition including 145 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.52 percent of cases that are critical while 20.6 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,180, followed by Samut Prakan with 887, Chonburi with 548, Nonthaburi with 512, Phuket with 469, and Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 429.

A total number of 207,281 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 30,144 people had received their first shots, 26,783 people had received their second shots, and 150,399 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 75.9% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 70.8% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 26.1% have had a third booster shot.

As of today, 11,551 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,622,600 cases with 2,467,383 recoveries and a total of 22,489 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
