Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw sets up a temporary operation center in Lviv to provide urgent assistance for Thai people in Ukraine

The Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, announced the establishment of an operations center in Lviv to urgently facilitate and assist Thai people in Ukraine today, February 25th.

The Embassy posted on its social media platform that due to the intense unrest and political situation in Ukraine, Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has given the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw the authority to set up an “operation center” to help Thai people in Ukraine from today onwards.

The center is established at the Hotel Цісар or Tsisar, located on Horodotska street of Lviv. It will be used as temporary accommodation for Thai people, a total of 253 people who are mostly working at spas/massage parlors, from different cities of insecurity risks. Embassy staff will also be deployed to coordinate with the Ukrainian officials provide quick assistance for Thai nationals.

Currently, the Embassy is directly contacting employers in different cities to assess the situation and safety developments in each area, according to its announcement. Officials are also arranging vehicles in several areas for safely carrying Thai people to the center. Due to the high uncertainty of the current situation, many people were traveling to other cities by private cars while some roads were closed and public transport were shut off. However, the Embassy will do its best to provide buses for pickup up all Thai people in major cities as soon as the situation allows.

In the meantime, employers of Thai workers are requested to fully take care of the safety and well-being of their employees, such as providing food and necessaries, preparing travel documents, as well as finding vehicles in case it is necessary to evacuate Thai employees out of the risky area.
