Bangkok –

Nonthaburi investigations officers today, March 3rd, prepared to summon five speedboat passengers who were present at the death of Nida “DTangmo” Patcharaveerapong (Her nickname is watermelon in English) for further questioning.

Watermelon, according to her friends, fell off a speedboat while relieving herself in the back of the boat on a night cruise in Bangkok last week and was missing for several days until her body was found. However, suspicion has been placed around the friend’s story of the events by multiple organizations and parties leading to further investigation.

The interrogation would be conducted to prove if all five of them gave the same consistent statements about the incident on the speedboat as they had in previous testimony, according to the Nonthaburi police.

As of this morning, the officials went to examine the speed and GPS system of the speedboat used on the day of the incident following the statements of Dtangmo’s friends. They also arrived at the scene in which it was claimed by the friends to be where Dtangmo fell off the boat to death.

Pol Lt Gen Jirapat Phumjit, Commander of Provincial Police Region 1, ordered the officials to use a pig’s leg to represent part of Dtangmo’s body, tie it with a rope, and throw it into the Chao Phraya River while accelerating the speedboat at high speed. The experiment found that the leg bounced off the boat while driving at the speed recorded in the boat’s speed history and that the leg would immediately go and get stuck at the bottom of the boat.

Officials would also invite academics, forensic scientists, criminology analysts, and speedboat experts to join the examination and answer the public questions regarding the incident and whether it was scientifically possible for Dtangmo to fall to death while reportedly urinating at the back of the boat as claimed by her friends or how/what posture did she fall into the water, etc.

As of 1:30 PM. today, the Nonthaburi Police Station had coordinated with the Police Crime Suppression Division of Technology to check the mobile phone information of all five people on the speedboat and was preparing to call them for further interrogation.

Meanwhile, Nonthaburi police officials had come up with four possible working scenarios that had taken place as follows:

The first assumption: a man on the boat who was not an experienced boat driver asked for a test drive while Dtangmo was standing with another friend. The driver may have driven shakily and unsteadily causing the actress to lose her balance and grab her friend. But, her friend was afraid of falling into the water, so they shook Dtangmo off, causing the actress to fall into the water to death.

The second assumption: Dtangmo really went for urinating wearing a bodysuit at the end of the boat by grabbing one of her friend’s legs for balance in a sitting position. But when she finished, she may have pulled the leg, causing her friend to quickly shake her hand off. Then, the actress fell into the water.

The third assumption: According to a witness, Dtangmo went for urinating at the end of the boat by grabbing one of her friend’s legs for balance in a sitting position. But when she finished, she was trying to grab the leg to get up while the friend was also looking for something to hold for balance, causing the actress to lose her balance, and fall into the river.

The last assumption: The actress went to urinate at the back of the boat alone, lost her balance, and fell into the water to her death.

Nonthaburi police continue to work on the case.
