Pajaree “Meaw” Anannarukarn was the best Thai performer on the first day with a score of four under par 68 and ranked 23rd, behind Esther Henselet of Germany, Nasa Hataoka of Japan, and Su Oh from Australia who all shot nine-under-par rounds.

The ISPS Handa World Invitational 2021 winner said after the first day: “The weather was okay but the wind started to get stronger during the last 10 holes. I might not have a good start. The drive was not very good but the putt is ok. Overall performance is considered good. As for tomorrow, I’d stick to the same plan which was to stay in the fairway as much as possible and I would practice the drive better.”

Henseleit Esther

The best performer on the first day was German golfer Esther Henselet who had participated in the Honda LPGA Thailand for the first time and completed the first-day game bogey-free.

The 23-year-old German golfer said: “I really like this course. The greens were soft enough to score. Today was windy but nothing went wrong. Today was also my first time to do 9 under-par. This is the first time I joined the tournament in Thailand. I had competed in the Ladies European Tour 3 years ago and I was glad to come back to compete in Thailand again and hoped to perform well throughout the tournament.”
