Thai Meteorological Department warns of thundershowers with gusty winds in most parts of Thailand

  The Thai Meteorological Department today, March 29th, warned of thundershowers with gusty winds in most parts of the country, especially in the north, the central, and the northeast.

Generally, a high-pressure system from China remains over Northeastern Thailand and the South China Sea. The upper part of Thailand remains hot. Thundershowers with isolated gusty winds are likely in the northeast, the north, the central, and the east.

The weak northwesterly and southeasterly winds prevail across the Gulf of Thailand with isolated thundershowers in the south.

In the northern part, heat with dry haze is reported. Isolated thundershowers and isolated gusty winds are possible mostly in Chiang Rai, Lampang, Phayao, Phare, Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun. The minimum temperature is 21-26 °C. and the maximum temperature is 34-38 °C.

In the northeastern part, isolated thundershowers with isolated gusty wind occur mostly in Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, and Surin. The minimum temperature is 21-25 °C. and the maximum temperature is 31-35 °C.

In the central part, hot haze during the day is reported with scattered thundershowers and isolated gusty winds mostly in Suphan Buri, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Nakhon Sawan, Lop Buri, Saraburi, and Ayuthaya. The minimum temperature is 24-27 °C. and the maximum temperature is 35-37 °C.

For Bangkok and its vicinity, hot haze during the day is reported with isolated thundershowers. The minimum temperature is 26-27 °C. and the maximum temperature is 35-37 °C.

In the eastern part (including Chonburi), hot haze during the day is expected. Scattered thundershowers and isolated gusty winds will occur mostly in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat. The minimum temperature is 24-27 °C. and the maximum temperature is 33-36 °C. Wave height is reported below 1 meter and about 1 meter in thundershowers.

In the southern part, isolated thundershowers are forecast mostly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phang Nga, Trang, and Satun. The minimum temperature is 24-25 °C. and the maximum temperature is 33-36 °C. Wave height is reported as about 1 meter and above 1 meter in thundershowers.

The Department also warned people to beware of the severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees, and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prepare for crop damage.
