Chaiphon Wipha, widely known as Uncle Pon, and his wife Somphon Larbpho appeared at the Mukdahan Provincial Court today to hear the verdict of his alleged offense against the Forest Act, following his reported attempt to construct a Naga palace and cut down trees in the national forest in Ban Kok Kok in the Mukdahan Province.

In addition, two YouTubers named as Terraphong and Nikhom (last names withheld) who were also charged with the same offense for assisting Uncle Pon in felling the trees were present in court to hear the verdict.

Uncle Pon was sentenced to two years and three months in prison and fined 45 thousand baht, while the other two defendants received one year in prison and a fine of twenty thousand baht. However, Uncle Pon got a two-year suspension and was ordered to demolish his Naga palace within 30 days.

Uncle Pon, who still has a significant social media following, did not immediately comment on the ruling but had previously claimed innocence.
