 Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha urged all educational institutions nationwide to strictly comply with public health preventive measures in order to start a new semester according to the government’s current plan in May.
Government spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana revealed yesterday, April 21st, that the Prime Minister asked all educational institutions to properly prepare health safety along with Covid-19 measures under the ‘6-6-7’ safety measures, as prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health.
The first ‘6’ were the main measures, or the DMHT-RC acronym, which included social distancing, wearing facial masks, washing hands, body temperature screening, reducing congestion, and cleaning. The other ‘6’ were additional measures which included consuming newly-cooked food, school check-in/out, surveys and examinations, and self-quarantine.
The other 7 strict measures for educational institutions include:
- Assessing Thai Stop COVID Plus and constantly reporting through the Ministry of Education’s ‘MOE COVID’ mobile application
- ‘Small Bubble’ or arranging activities in small groups
- Preparing food with sanitation and nutrition principles
- Preparing a healthy environment, including air, cleanliness, water, and waste arrangement
- ‘School Isolation’ with emergency response and simulation exercises
- Preparing ‘Sealed Routes’ to supervise travel from home to school
- ‘School Pass’ for students, teachers, and personnel in educational institutions to receive vaccinations, at least 85 percent.
