Thailand reported a total of 14,994 daily Covid-19 infections with 124 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, April 25th.
The fatalities were 68 men, and 56 women with the highest rate in Bangkok with 13. All of them were Thai nationals. The age range was between 1 month and 100 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including cancer (11), kidney disease (25), obesity (8), stroke (17), and heart disease (21). 22 of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 14,904 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 28 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 19 were from prisons, and the remaining 43 were imported cases.
A number of 174,500 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 1,876 patients are in critical condition including 903 on ventilators. This is roughly 1.07 percent of cases that are critical while 48.1 percent of that are critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,967, followed by Chonburi with 644, Khon Kaen with 598, Samut Prakan with 561, Nonthaburi with 424, and Si Saket with 407.
A total number of 68,766 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 6,987 people had received their first shots, 21,225 people had received their second shots, and 40,554 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 80.7% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 73.3% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 36.6% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 23,524 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 4,180,868 cases with 3,978,469 recoveries and a total of 27,899 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
