The Thai Meteorological Department has issued another weather warning for summer storms in upper Thailand on May 2nd.
According to the announcement, a moderate high-pressure system from China over upper Vietnam is expected to cover the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea today. Meanwhile, upper parts of Thailand are expected to experience hot weather.
On May 1st – the 2nd, the southerly and the southeasterly winds with the humidity is forecast to bring summer storms over the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East regions. Thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning strikes are also possible in some areas.
The affected areas are as follows:

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet, and Tak.
Northeast: Nakhon Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, and Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
The Department also warned the public to beware of severe conditions and keep off outdoor places, big trees, and unsecured billboards. All transports should take more caution during the summer storms. Farmers should prevent crop damage and stay tuned for weather updates.
