Phuket –
Two young Northeastern boys from Udon Thani were preparing to walk 1,450 kilometers to Phuket with only 10 baht and a bag of bananas to visit their cousin before a Good Samaritan took them back home.
The two boys, 14 and 12 years old, were found on a local road in Udon Thani with a backpack, ten baht, and a bag of bananas.
A Good Samaritan, Mr. Weerapong Raksamuewong, stopped to talk with the two boys. The two boys, whose names were withheld due to their age, said “We are from a nearby village. We live here with our grandmother and grandfather. Our parents work in Phang Nga, north of Phuket.”
“We were walking to Phuket to visit our cousin. We have ten baht. We don’t know how far Phuket is, but we planned to walk there.”
The two boys finally agreed to go back to their grandparents. Their grandparents were very happy that their grandchildren went back home and promised to keep a closer eye on them in the future. The grandparents also stated they would arrange to let the boys meet with their cousin and parents in the near future, without walking to Phuket.
The story went viral on Thai media earlier today, notes TPN media.
