Bangkok officials reminds the public of alcohol sales prohibitions this upcoming election weekend

As elections are coming this Sunday for Bangkok Governor, the public relations department of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is reminding people what not to do and what could violate the law, including the ban of alcohol sales from 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 21st, to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, May 22nd, in election jurisdictions.

According to the PR reminder on social media also posted below, one of the prohibitions includes “The sale and distribution of liquors as well as organizing entertainment which involves liquor, both prohibited in the constituency voting between 6:00 PM. on the day before Election Day until 6:00 PM. on Election Day.”

Those who violate these rules could face imprisonment of a maximum of six months or a fine of a maximum of 10,000 baht or both.

The similar prohibition and punishment of the regulation also apply to the Pattaya Mayor election which will also be held on the same day.
