Bangkok –

Bangkok gubernatorial elections winner Chadchart Sittipunt teamed up with 2nd runner-up Move Forward candidate Wiroj Lakhanaadisorn to inspect problems of drainage systems in Khlong Lad Phrao a day after the unofficial election result was announced this afternoon, May 23rd.

District councilor candidates from the Pheu Thai Party and the Move Forward Party also joined the canal inspection to solve and prevent flooding in the area of the four-connected districts from Wat Lat Phrao Pier to the floodgate at Lat Phrao Soi 56.

Chadchart said that the urgent problem that residents most complained about was flooding, especially in Khlong Lad Phrao which had been suffering from drainage problems. Since the canal is connected to Bang Bua and Sean Seap canals, the problems also occurred in four districts, namely Lat Phrao, Chatuchak, Huai Khwang, and Wang Thonglang. One of the causes, according to officials, is the incomplete construction of a wastewater treatment plant.

Meanwhile, the Move Forward governor candidate proposed his 12 policies to the winner for consideration. Chadchart said that all of them are valuable policies and need to be studied as to how many of them can be implemented.

The incoming governor vowed to work with representatives from all parties to solve problems for the people of Bangkok. This evening, he is scheduled to visit the Khlong Toei area with a councilor candidate from the Rak Bangkok group. However, the candidate is reportedly busy, so the group will send a representative to join the inspection.

Chadchart stated: “Today is a good sign that we, despite coming from different parties, jointly came to solve problems for the people. Bangkok councilors will play an important role and this will create a new political context in Thai politics.”

“Tomorrow, we will go explore the east coast. But today we have to inspect the urgent areas first. There will be no such thing as a honeymoon day-off period because people do not take a honeymoon, they are suffering.”
