Thai Prime Minister to depart for Japan tonight to attend Nikkei Forum between 25-27 May

Bangkok –

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha is scheduled to depart for Tokyo, Japan this evening, May 25th, to attend the 27th International Conference on the Future of Asia (Nikkei Forum).

The Prime Minister accepted the invitation of Nikkei Asia to participate in the conference between 25-27 May. It is hosted annually since 1995 and this year will focus on the main theme of the review of Asia’s role in a divided world.

Country leaders, senior managers, and leading academics from countries in the Asia-Pacific region are invited to discuss and exchange visions on regional economic trends and developments.

This will be the first time for Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha to attend the event in person after doing it via a teleconference system in 2021 and is the first visit in person in the past three years after attending the coronation ceremony of the Emperor of Japan in October 2019. He is also scheduled to meet Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida again during the visit.

The Prime Minister and his delegations will be departing Thailand at 10:00 PM. on May 25 and will arrive in Tokyo around 6:30 AM. on May 26 (Local Time).
