Nakhon Ratchasima –
 A group of 18 alleged website administrators was caught at a luxurious resort in Nakhon Ratchasima yesterday, May 26th, after reportedly operating illegal gambling websites with a turnover of 900 million baht.
Lieutenant General Jirabhop Bhuridej, Commissioner from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), told the Associated Press at a press conference that the police force raided a resort in the Pak Chong district on Thursday following an investigation that a group of illegal gambling website operators had rented the rooms to run an office.
The resort was located in a forested and quiet area, but the name was withheld by CIB pending further investigation. Upon the raid, a total of 10 rooms were allegedly full of website administrators and staff sitting in front of the computer screens, convincing potential customers to join the illegal activities.
A total of 10 computers, 5 laptops, 30 mobile phones, and 12 book bank accounts were also confiscated as evidence.
The investigation reportedly exposed that the group operated two websites, www.biz99.bet and www.Aladdin.bet. The company bank accounts recorded a monthly income of no less than 20 million baht, generating more than 900 million baht. The group had reportedly operated the websites for 4 years in neighboring countries before relocating to Thailand in 2021 after the outbreak of Covid-19 and starting renting the resort, with 10 rooms at a price of 30,000 baht per month.
Initially, all 18 suspects were in police custody for questioning. Meanwhile, the police would expand their investigation to find the employers, owners, and those involved for upcoming legal proceedings.
