Police arrest a 23-year-old drug dealer with two million meth pills after a car chase in Chumphon

Chumphon —

Thai Police reported that they arrested a 23-year-old drug dealer with two million methamphetamine pills after a car chase in Chumphon.

At 4 a.m. yesterday, May 27th, Pol. Lt. Gen. Thana Chuwong and other police officers conducted an anti-drug operation to arrest a 23-year-old male drug dealer, Panuwat Phanlamjiak, on Phetkasem Rd, Hong Charoen sub-district, Tha Sae district, Chumphon.

According to the police report, the operation was a follow-up of a previous operation on May 2nd, where narcotics suppression police arrested another drug smuggler in Nakhon Ratchasima and impounded eight million methamphetamines pills which led to the arrest yesterday, May 27th.

Police stated that the suspect was transporting a large load of drugs on his black Toyota City truck before being pulled over at a Chumphon checkpoint. The suspect, however, broke through the checkpoint but eventually crashed into a tree due to a slippery road. Police impounded two million methamphetamine pills hidden in several burlap bags and arrested the suspect, who sustained no injuries.

The suspect initially confessed to the crime and was in police custody as of press time. The narcotics suppression division said that this arrest would lead to another bigger one in the future.
