1. Thailand aims to attract more Chinese tourists after two Thai-China flights were initially granted operational approval

As Chinese Civil Aviation has allowed international airlines to operate Thai-China flights, the Thai government planned to prepare measures to promote tourism in the second half of the year in order to boost tourism, especially for Chinese tourists who have always been one of the major tourists’ groups in Thailand. However, the flights will initially be limited to business people and students.

Contrary to the removal of the mask mandate, the daily infections in Thailand continued to rise, so prominent doctor Manoon Leechawengwongs then urged the government to delay its endemic announcement, which was initially aimed to be on July 1st, saying that the government should postpone for a while until the situation is resolved and the government could seek solutions to decrease the infections.
