Father of Thai actor “Nicky” arrested for alleged attempted murder, Royal Thai Police announces

Royal Thai Police on Thursday, July 7th, announced major arrests of 17 suspects in several cases of alleged murders, firearm possession, and drug abuse – including the father of Thai star Nachat “Nicky” Juntapun.

The police announced the arrest of Worachet Juntapun, 63, who was accused of attempted murder and violating the Firearm Act after reportedly shooting a ten-wheel truck driver who was reportedly parking their vehicle in front of his resort in the Mae Taeng District of Chiang Mai.

He was bailed in the first verdict but did not present himself at the second verdict of the Supreme Court in 2017 and reportedly continued his usual life and started a Youtube channel instead. Therefore, the police conducted an arrest at his residence in the Mueang District of Nonthaburi province.

17 suspects were arrested from the operation, including 6 for murder charges, 7 for attempted murder charges, 3 for robbery cases, and 1 for physical assault causing serious injuries.
