Body of Belgian-Thai man who had gone missing in Chiang Mai canal found

The body of a Thai-Belgian tourist who had gone missing while rafting in Mae Taeng district, Chiang Mai, was eventually found yesterday, July 24th, after a three-day constant search.

The body of Nicolas Hinckxt was discovered in the rapids near an elephant shelter, located about 10.5 kilometers away from where he reportedly fell from a rubber boat after crashing into a large rock while rafting with two Belgian friends.

According to the officials, his body was found upside down and naked. Initially, the body was delivered to a local hospital for an autopsy before transferring to his family for a religious ceremony.
