Samui Island, Surat Thani –

Big Joke has ordered to rush on an investigation after items in a hotel on Samui Island have been looted which cost more than 14 million baht.

Ms. Yommana Poonsawat has filed a report to the Bo Phut Police on Samui Island last week. Police found the hotel was rented by a Swiss investor since 1990 for 30 years. Ms. Yommana, who is the land owner, received the land and the building back last year after the contract ended. The name of the investor has been continually withheld by police pending the investigation.

Yommana hired security guards to patrol the hotel for a while before the security guards contract ended. Last month she found that hotel supplies and items had been lost and removed from the property without her permission.

Thai police found multiple suspects allegedly related to the previous renter. Nine people have been arrested who are six Thais and three Myanmar Nationals.

‘Big Joke’, the Assistant Commissioner of Thai Police Surachet Hakpal told the associated Thai media, “Some stolen items were seized back after they were sold. The final cost of items lost is 14,331,500 baht. All suspects must be quickly arrested and stolen items must be seized as soon as possible.”

Many of the stolen items were sold over Facebook and social media with the owner allegedly pretending to be the rightful owner, notes TPN media.
