Thailand’s Covid-19 Center announces end of Emergency Decree and CCSA dissolution, effective October 1st

National –

The general meeting of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Friday, September 23rd, has announced the end of the Emergency Decree and the dissolution of the CCSA, effective October 1st.

After more than two years of the implementation, the Emergency Decree including all the requirements, announcements, and orders that the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers had exercised in their powers to declare a state of emergency will officially be put to an end on September 30th.

This, therefore, includes the end of the CCSA working committee. Recommendations and regulations against the Covid-19 surveillance and treatment will be applied according to the Communicable Disease Act in which the Ministry of Public Health had recently declared Covid-19 as a monitored disease.

According to the CCSA chaired by Acting Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, the cabinet committee would primarily discuss tasks similar to the CCSA for various related ministries after the dissolution while the amendment of the Communicable Disease Act is now to be considered by the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, the public is still advised to continue to wear facial masks and take care of themselves as well as taking a boost vaccination as needed.
