English national, 57, arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Wednesday for allegedly running a securities company without legal license

Bangkok –

An English national, Mark Kirkham, was captured at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Thursday, October 6th, following an arrest warrant for operating a securities company in the Kingdom without a license.

The arrest of the 57-year-old foreigner was conducted after alleged victims had filed complaints to the The Securities and Exchange Commission, claiming that the foreign CEO of PFS International Consultants reportedly invited them into a foreign fund investment program and promised a return of 7-11 percent.

However, when the contract ended, the investments could not be redeemed, causing damage totaling more than 40 million baht. The company was reportedly shut down afterward.

The officials then began an investigation and requested for an arrest warrant from the Southern Bangkok Criminal Court on December 22nd, 2021, before the police of the Economic Crime Suppression Division conducted the arrest on Wednesday.

The suspect has denied all charges as of press time and is seeking legal assistance.
