Bangkok –

Mongkolkit Suksintharanon, leader of the Thai Civilized Party, on Monday, October 31st, submitted a request to the Ombudsman, urging the Constitutional Court to repeal the cabinet resolution that grants foreigners to hold land ownership for one rai.

The party leader expressed his opinion that according to the consideration of foreign land ownership in Thailand on October 25th, he – as a Thai citizen who loves and cherishes the land, did not agree with the cabinet consideration as Thai ancestors had sacrificed their blood and flesh to protect this land with their lives.

Therefore, he had submitted a request to the Ombudsman for the Constitutional Court to consider whether the cabinet’s decision was against Article 1 of the Constitution Court, stating that Thailand is one and indivisible Kingdom that is inseparable.

Moreover, the request also urged the authorities to examine whether allowing foreigners to invest in government bonds with the maximum of 40 million baht is unconstitutional or not.
