A meeting to discuss the high-speed rail link project linking Thailand to China through Laos is set for early 2023, according to Saksayam Chidchob, Minister of Transport.

The minister told Thai media after today’s Cabinet meeting at the Government House that Thailand is preparing to hold the 30th meeting of the Thai-Chinese joint committee on rail cooperation as early as possible.

Initially, the meeting will be held around early 2023, the transport minister told Thai media without giving the exact date.

He also added that China is willing to assist in the construction of a new bridge for the project, about 30 meters away from the Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge.
