Phuket hits highest income from tourism in Thailand

Phuket has hit the highest income from tourism in Thailand between January and October this year.

According to Ms. Thipanan Siricha Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office,

The top 10 most provinces that foreigners visited are:

1. Phuket 2,329,894
2. Chonburi 975,026
3. Surat Thani 606,812
4. Songkhla 581,808
5. Chiang Mai 496,111
6. Samut Prakan 321,390
7.Phang Nga 317,353
8. Nong Khai 231,243
9. Krabi 217,526
10. Chiang Rai 148,683

The top 10 nationality tourists visited are from:

1. Malaysia 1,291,381
2. India 698,757
3. Singapore 381,940
4. Laos 345,709
5. Vietnam 340,670
6. South Korea 316,240
7. United Kingdom 291,753
8. United States 283,211
9. Cambodia 252,862
10. Germany 235,596

The peak of the Phuket tourism high season is expected from Christmas to New Year as Russians now lead the pack of visitors.
