Traffic points from five hundred and forty Thailand drivers have been deducted on the first day of a new traffic system.

Our previous story:

The traffic point-deduction system has officially been put into effect in Thailand yesterday, January 9th, 2023 and it will change the legal consequences of Thailand’s notorious traffic offenses for good.

The Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police Major General Archayon Kraithong said today (January 10th) that there were 540 drivers whose traffic points have been deducted on the first day. This system is aimed to improve driving behaviors and decrease road accidents.

The top three deducted points were:

  1. Using vehicles without proper vehicle tax or proof of tax (233 drivers)
  2. Using vehicles that had no driving license plates (81 drivers)
  3. Driving over the speed limit (63 drivers)

Major General Archayon said drivers can check their points via the website E-Ticket PTM and via the application KHUB DEE.
