251 Children Went Missing Last Year in Thailand

In total, 251 children went missing last year in Thailand.

The Chief of the Missing People Information Centre, Mr. Eakalak Loomchomkhae, told the press this week about the data as part of Children’s Day, which is today, January 14th. The missing number is the highest number in four years which is 25 percent higher than last year.

Of those numbers, 161 of them ran away from their homes, followed by mental development problems, and two of them were kidnapped. Most of them were in the age range from 11 to 15 years-old. Bangkok has the highest recorded number of 70 children missing, followed by Samut Prakan and Nonthaburi.

Mr. Eakalak said it is very difficult to track down missing children. However If anyone lost your children you must call 1191. It can be immediately reported to police with no need to wait for 24 hours.
