Anutin Charnvirakul, Minister of the Public Health Ministry and deputy prime minister, came out on Monday to demand more punishment for cops who provided a VVIP escort to a female Chinese Tiktoker.

Now for our update:
Anutin said the police who helped the Chinese tourist whisk her way through immigration and escorted her to a hotel in Pattaya had violated the law and police regulations that prohibited the use of the state vehicles for personal benefits, though the vehicle used to escort her was reportedly registered as a private vehicle, notes The Pattaya News.
He went on to say that the policemen should be punished regardless of concerns that it would cost the country some tourists.
“We never advertise such services for tourists anyway,” Anutin stated.
The minister believed that the incident would not damage the country’s reputation because Thailand was still a top pick for most tourists.
“I just returned from a country in Europe. People there told me they chose Thailand as the first country they would travel to in the summer.” Anutin added.
