Three Foreign Tourists Rescued after Getting Lost in Phangan Island Forest

Phangan Island, Surat Thani –

Three foreign tourists have been rescued after they got lost in a forest on Phangan Island in Surat Thani.

The head of the Than Sadet- Ko Pha-Ngan National Park Mr. Thikamphon Penchaom told TPN Media, “We were notified from a village head man of the missing tourists in the Baan Tai sub-district yesterday (January 30th) at 5:30 P.M..”

“Three foreign tourists were unable to get out after attempting to follow a natural trail on Ra Mountain. They called us on a mobile phone for help. We checked their location and realised they were on an old trail to the top of the mountain,” Mr. Thikamphon added.

“At 8:45 P.M. we found them. They were Mr. Prasannatma Das Bhatt, 30, Ms. Stagey Anne Pedder, 35, both British nationals, and Ms. Sandra Helena, 44, Netherlands national. They are all safe,” Mr. Thikamphon explained.

The tourists said thank you to officials, staffers and rescue teams.
