44 Foreign Drivers Arrested in Patong with No Driving Licenses

Patong –

Forty-four foreign drivers have been arrested in Patong for not having driving licenses.

The crackdown was launched last night (February 9th) after twenty French motorbike racers had been arrested after causing a public nuisance this week.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that last night from 7:30 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. they arrested 39 foreign drivers for not wearing helmets, 44 with no driving license, and eight for jumping red-lights.

Fifteen rental motorbikes were seized and legal action will be taken against motorbike rental operators for allowing drivers with no driving license to rent motorbikes.
