Two People on Phuket Bus Injured after Gunman Opens Fire – VIDEO

Phuket –

Two people on a bus in Phuket have sustained injuries after a gunman opened fire while other passengers ran away.

The Phuket City Police were notified of the incident at 7:00 A.M. this morning (February 10th) about a bus which was traveling on the Thep Krasattri Road in Rassada in Kwuan Din Dang. Police arrived at the scene and closed the road for both lanes for a one kilometer radius as a safety precaution.

The bus driver, Mr. Somyos Buakaew, 42, who was not injured, told the Phuket Express, “The bus had departed from the bus terminal about one kilometer away. The bus was heading to Phatthalung. There were nine passengers today.”

“The gunman opened fire before I stopped the bus and heard another gun shot. A man and a woman on the bus sustained injuries. Other passengers and myself escaped from the bus after the bus stopped. The two injured people were taken to a nearby hospital.” Somyos stated.

It is unclear if the suspect is still on the bus although mixed reports said police were negotiating with a person of interest. The area is still closed.

This is a developing story.
