Canadian Man Being Questioned after Thai Girlfriend was Found Hanged in Patong

A Canadian man who was about to leave the Kingdom of Thailand is being questioned after his Thai girlfriend was found hanged in Patong.

Mr. Kreangsak Riwklang, who is a brother of Ms. Wanwisa Riwklang, 31, has publicly called upon Patong police to re-investigate his sister’s death. Ms. Wanwisa was found hanged in her nail salon on Na Nai Road on February 8th, 2023. Her family does not believe it was suicide. He has also provided evidence of chats with her boyfriend identified only as Mr. Landy, 51, a Canadian national.

Phuket Provincial Commander Major General Sermphan Sirikong told the Phuket Express that an autopsy is being conducted to find the exact cause of death. The Canadian who was at Phuket International Airport trying to leave Thailand is currently being questioned. Landy told officers that he was going to Singapore for a Visa extension.
