Surat Thani Tourism Hits Highest Growth in Thailand

Surat Thani tourism which includes Samui, Phangan, and Tao (Turtle) Islands has reached the highest growth in the country with tourism revenue increasing 900 percent from a 600 percent increase of tourists year over year.

The Surat Thani Governor Mr. Witchawut Jintoe told the Phuket Express that according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, last year Surat Thani’s revenue from tourism was 27.66 billion baht. The number has increased 912.04 percent from 2021. There were 3,690,642 visitors last year which was a 666 percent increase from 2021.

“These numbers have shown that Surat Thani Province’s tourism revenue growth is the highest in Thailand,” Mr. Witchawut added.
