Famous Thai Whistleblower Files Royal Defamation Charges Against Alleged Chinese Triad Leader

National —

Massage parlor tycoon turned whistleblower Chuwit Kamolvisit on Monday filed a royal defamation lawsuit against an alleged Chinese triad leader for reportedly referring to “the institution” for personal benefits.

On February 20th, Chuwit met with Thailand’s deputy police chief Gen Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn to file a Lese Majeste complaint against the alleged triad boss, Yu Xinqi.

Yu was charged with crimes involving computer systems, fundraising, and illegal associations of operation, Big Joke said, adding his visa had already been revoked, and he was soon to be deported.

The suspect was also the founder of an unlicensed Chinese association and a business school that illegally brought Chinese people into Thailand. Chuwit stated that Yu also reportedly used this association to refer to the Thai royal family to seek benefits for himself.

“I need to file the lese majeste lawsuit against Yu to protect the main institution of the Thai people,” the whistleblower stated.

Chuwit also alleged that there were over 500-600 suspicious associations in Chonburi alone and a proxy firm of Chinese lawyers located on Rama IX Road in Bangkok.Chinese grey syndicates have been under close watch of the Thai authorities since the start of this year, with multiple cases making headlines nationally.
