Patong Trying to Solve Algae Blooming on Beach

Authorities in Patong are trying to solve a problem of algae blooming on the beach.

The Phuket Natural and Environment Resources Director Mr. Wattanapong Suksai told the Phuket Express, “The Patong Municipality has continued to clean up algae on Patong beach everyday due to the current blooming. This algae bloom has affected beachgoers and swimmers’ activities.”

“There are many tourists visiting Patong Beach. We are trying to improve tourism and at the same time to preserve the marine ecological system.” Mr. Wattanapong added.
