A Myanmar worker stabbed and slashed his alleged “friend” to death in front of a shopping mall in Bangkok over a disagreement about alleged snitching and fruit stands.
The Phaya Thai Police in Ratchathewi was notified of the incident on Thursday (March 9th) in front of a shopping mall in Pratu Nam.
Emergency responders and police arrived at the clothing stall to find the body of Ms. Phyu Mar Aung, 34, Myanmar national. Five stab and slash wounds were found on her body. The suspect, Thet Lin Oo, Myanmar national, was arrested after being detained by mall security.
The Phaya Thai Police Colonel Kritsadaphon Jongaksorn told TPN media “Ms. Aung and the suspect worked at different fruit stalls nearby but they have the same employer/owner. The suspect said that Ms. Aung liked to tell their employer that he was lazy and always playing on a mobile phone. He claimed they had previously been friends but not anymore.”
“The suspect became angry before he stabbed and slashed Ms. Aung with a three inch long knife before speeding away. The suspect was immediately caught by security guards nearby before police arrived.”
“Mr. Oo is facing charges of murder with intent.”
Oo remains in custody as of press time.
