More than 200,000 Meth Pills and 96 Guns Seized in Region 8 Crime Crackdown

More than 200,000 methamphetamine pills and 96 guns were seized in an upper Southern Thailand crime crackdown.

A press conference was held at the Region 8 Police Station based in Phuket yesterday, March 21st, 2023, and was led by Lieutenant Colonel Somphong Chingduang, Assistant Commissioner of Police.

Lieutenant Colonel Somphong told the Phuket Express that police have cracked down on 247 illegal drug networks in the upper Southern provinces, in total 516 targets. More than 300 suspects have been arrested with 235,290 methamphetamine pills and 96 guns seized. More than 41 million baht worth of properties were seized from suspects.

Police are continuing to crack down on crimes and illegal drugs not just in Phuket but across the Kingdom of Thailand in a coordinated national effort to deter crime.
