The Kathu District Chief Mr. Thitiwat Boonkit told the Phuket Express that after midnight on (March 27th) they were notified of a fight at a bar/restaurant in Soi Saen Sabai, Patong.

Staff said they had to prepare food in strict order of customers and had several other clients ahead of the five intoxicated tourists. The tourists demanded to be moved ahead in the queue for their food and the staff declined, stating this would be unfair to other customers.

The customers became enraged at this point and threw some bottles into the bar at the restaurant staff. Staffers at the bar got angry and began to fight back with the tourists, with both sides using various weapons such as kitchen utensils, chairs, pipes, and more.
