Chonburi Immigration Arrests Self-proclaimed Mother of The Universe near Pattaya, Break up Chinese Cult

Sattahip –

Four Chinese and Taiwanese people were arrested for allegedly being involved in a cult-like scam in Sattahip.

The Chonburi Immigration Office, led by the Commander of Immigration Division 3 Major General Warisiri Leelasiri 3, told the Pattaya News today (April 29th) that they have arrested Mrs. HONGLIAN SU, 49, Chinese national, who goes by the self-proclaimed title of Mother of the Universe, and Mr. CHANG WEN HAO (LUPIN CHANG), 60, Taiwanese, as well as three other Chinese employees at a luxury house in Na Jomtien today, April 29th, 2023 at 10:00 A.M.

They were allegedly involved in operating illegal businesses that Chonburi Immigration referred to as a cult including fortune telling and selling illegal herbal medicine promising to promote a healthy and long life. They had lots of Chinese tourists and Thais as customers and they did this for more than three years.

The businesses were actually a front, says Major General Warisiri, for a cult called the Lion Kingdom Federation, or the Lion Empire, which claims amongst other things that the Mother of the Universe, Honglian Su, communicates with gods and was trying to form their own empire or confederation.

The arrest came after a Facebook user shared information via social media promoting the Lion Kingdom Federation. The company was also inviting people to join their group and donate for the business, as well as offering sermons online and even creating their own currency under an uncredited bank, royalty, and passport under the Great Chinese Empire Federation, claiming it was recognized by the United Nations, which it is not.

These claims came to the attention of leading Thai policeman Surachate Hakparn, known by his nickname of Big Joke, who ordered a full investigation by Immigration under current policy.

Mrs. HONGLIAN SU has a work permit as a manager of Heaven of Heaven Company but she did not operate the company as specified in her work permit, stated Chonburi Immigration. Amongst other violations, her work permit did not allow her to form her own country, bank, cult, and currency.

Mr. CHANG has a retirement visa and his name is registered in the Heaven of Heaven Company. However, he did not have a work permit. Both of their visas have been withdrawn and they are being blacklisted.

Their three Chinese employees have had visas that have expired since the beginning of this year, 2023. All suspects were taken to the Na Jomtien Police Station for processing for deportation.
