Bangkok –
A Polish suspect who was arrested after he allegedly killed and dismembered a Ukrainian woman at a condominium in Bangkok has refused to say anything to Thai police and the media.
Our previous story:
The Wat Phraya Krai Police told TPN media that they were notified of the horrific incident at a condominium in Bang Kho Laem on Monday (May 15th).
Now for the update:
The Wat Phraya Krai Police Chief Colonel Wathit Rojanapaitoon told TPN media that the suspect has requested to meet staff from the Embassy of Poland. He has refused to give any details to police or media and was described as not cooperative with investigators.
The suspect, now fully identified as Lagoda Filippow Jan Jerzy, 25, from Poland, is being detained at the Bangkok South criminal Court. He is now facing charges of intentional murder. He was denied bail by the Thai Criminal Court, stating that he was likely to be a flight risk.
Lagoda was described by police familiar with the situation as calm and relaxed while being detained at the Wat Phraya Krai police station, sleeping soundly after arriving at 4:00 A.M. and eating a full breakfast, without a sign of stress or concern. However, as stated, he would not speak to anyone other than to continually request embassy assistance, expected to arrive sometime later today.
TPN notes that the suspect has also refused to answer any questions to the media when he made a public appearance with police earlier today, May 16th, 2023.
