Illegal Night Club in Phuket Raided for Allegedly Being Open Late and Allowing Minors

An illegal night club in Phuket Town was raided for allegedly opening over the legal closing time and allowing minors to enter the venue.

The Mueang Phuket District Chief Mr. Pairoj Srilamoon told the Phuket Express that at 1:30 A.M. on Tuesday (June 6th) a team of officials from the Mueang Phuket District Office raided a night club on the Chana Jaroen Road near the Nimit Circle (Seahorse Circle) in Talad Yai sub-district.

The owner, identified only as Mr. Tanya, was arrested and taken to the Phuket City Police Station. He is facing charges of allegedly illegally operating an entertainment venue without permission, selling alcohol over the legal time, opening an entertainment venue the past legal time, and allowing people aged under 20 entry.

Three 19-year-old minors were also found at the club. The name of the night club was not given by officials, citing further investigation.
