On April 19th, 2024, Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-nukara, the Deputy Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held an online conference with the ambassadors in Tel Aviv, Israel, Tehran, Iran, and Amman, Jordan, regarding the ongoing Middle East conflict.
The tense situation in the Middle East escalated as Iran launched a military assault on Israel on April 14th, 2024.
As of press time, no Thai in Israel and Iran was affected by the retaliation, according to Thai national media.
However, the current unpredictable situation could exacerbate into an all-out war. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned Thai citizens to consider refraining from traveling to the war zone and asked them to follow local news updates and notifications from Thai Embassies, especially in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Tehran, Iran.
Furthermore, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed with Israel and Iran embassies to coordinate with relevant agencies to prepare in case of an emergency to evacuate Thai people.
The Thai embassy pledged to update the situation regularly. For more information, call the Thai Department of Consular Affairs: 02 572 8442.
