Police Discover 30,000 Amphetamine Pills in Truck After Crash with Student Songthaew in Sa Kaeo

At 7:30 AM on May 23rd, 2024, Wang Nam Yen police officers received a report of a collision between a pickup truck and a songthaew carrying 19 students on Road 3259 in Wang Nam Yen, Sa Kaeo.

Wang Nam Yen police and rescue teams arrived at the scene and found the songthaew had plunged off the roadside. Rescue teams performed first aid to the 19 students, who suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious, before transporting them to local hospitals for immediate medical treatment.

Nearby, a white pickup truck had also veered off the road, and the driver was captured by locals. According to the police report, the songthaew had been picking up students from local residences on its way to school when the speeding pickup truck collided with it at the Praichit intersection.

Upon further investigation, police searched the white pickup truck, which had been previously reported by concerned citizens as suspicious for smuggling illicit substances.

The police discovered three packs containing 30,000 amphetamine pills hidden inside a spare tire. The suspect, identified only as Mr. Montree, 33, was escorted to Wang Nam Yen police station for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
