Liverpool FC has shared exciting news with The Pattaya News: the club is launching its first international academy in Thailand, expanding its global portfolio with a new academy in Bangkok. This marks the debut of Liverpool’s esteemed youth coaching programme in the country.
The long-term agreement underscores Liverpool’s commitment to nurturing young football talent in regions with fervent fanbases. The LFC International Academy Thailand will provide a year-round development programme for boys and girls aged five to 16, catering to all skill levels. Young athletes will have the unique opportunity to train under the guidance of Liverpool FC coaches, who are well-versed in the principles and methodologies of the club’s world-renowned Academy in Merseyside.
The academy aims to improve players’ technical and tactical skills while instilling essential life values central to The Liverpool Way: ambition, commitment, dignity, and unity.
A significant aspect of the programme is coach education. An LFC lead coach will oversee the implementation and development of the coaching programme in Thailand. Local coaches will benefit from a comprehensive education scheme, including the prestigious LFC International Academy global accreditation.
Liverpool legend and LFC International Academy ambassador Ian Rush expressed his enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to bring the first LFC International Academy to Thailand, a region with immense passion for football and Liverpool FC. Our international coaching programmes aim to provide an exceptional experience for young players. Alongside player development, coach education is equally crucial, introducing local coaches to the philosophies and techniques used at our Academy in Liverpool. Both players and coaches will have the chance to enhance their abilities on and off the pitch through The Liverpool Way.”

The LFC International Academy Thailand is set to commence later this year and will be hosted at two venues: Assumption College Thonburi and Assumption University of Thailand
