At 8:05 PM on July 31st, 2024, Thai narcotic suppression officers intercepted four individuals allegedly attempting to smuggle 400 kilograms of methamphetamine at Mukdahan City Hall, intended for transport to central Thailand.
According to the officers, intelligence indicated that a group would deliver illicit substances at the Mukdahan City Hall parking lot. Upon arrival, officers publicly identified the suspects only as Mr. Kriangsak (34), Mr. Theerasak (24), Mr. Chakkrit (23), and Mr. Thanaphat (19).
During the inspection of their vehicle, officers discovered over 400 kilograms of methamphetamine hidden in multiple packages in the trunk of the vehicle.
The suspects reportedly confessed to picking up the illicit substances in Wan Yai, Mukdahan, and arranging for another party to collect the packages at the City Hall for delivery to Ang Thong.
The police have detained the suspects for further legal proceedings and are investigating to identify other individuals involved in the operation.
