Krabi, Thailand– An 18-year-old Dutch tourist who had gone missing while hiking in the Hat Noppharat Thara Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park area was found lifeless after an intense 16-hour search covering a distance of 3.7 kilometers.
According to Mr. Yutthaphong Damsrisuk, the head of the national park, the young man, identified only as Mr. Tim, was exploring the Ngon Nak (Naga Crest) Mountain trails with his family on Wednesday, July 31st. It was during this excursion that he disappeared, prompting his parents to raise the alarm when they returned from their search for drinking water.
Despite their efforts to contact him via mobile phone, they were unsuccessful. The parents then reached out to the park staff for assistance. Tragically, at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 1st, Mr. Tim’s lifeless body was discovered wedged beneath the Ngon Nak (Naga Crest) Rock. This rock formation stands 450 meters above the plain area and approximately 70 meters higher than Ngon Nak Hill, which lies 3.7 kilometers from the national park station.
The recovery operation took at least three hours due to the challenging terrain. As of now, Mr. Tim’s parents, still grieving, have been unable to provide further details to the authorities. Medical professionals are still investigating the cause of his demise as of press time.
