Thailand Celebrates Olympic Heroes with Grand Victory Parade in Bangkok

On August 16th, 2024, Thailand’s Olympic athletes and their coaches celebrated their success from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with a victory parade through Bangkok.

Leading the procession was “Tennis” Panipak Wongpattanakit, who secured a gold medal in taekwondo. She was joined by “View” Kunlavut Vitidsarn, silver medalist in men’s singles badminton, silver medalist weightlifters “Fang” Theerapong Silachai and “Wave” Weeraphon Wichuma, bronze medalist weightlifter “Oil” Surodchana Khambao, and bronze medalist boxer “Bee” Janjaem Suwannapheng.

The parade began at 11:00 AM from the Thai Olympic Committee headquarters, passing through major landmarks including Democracy Monument, Thammasat University, and the Grand Palace. Throngs of enthusiastic fans lined the streets, celebrating the athletes who brought honor to Thailand on the global stage.

The parade concluded at Government House, where a reception was held to honor the athletes, coaches, and officials. A total of 65.9 million baht in rewards was presented to the heroes for their dedication and hard work, marking a proud moment for the nation.
